In Portuguese, “Yes sir” is Sim senhor, and it’s the spirit behind the yacht Seaview, in build at MCP Yachts. Specifically, the owner wants the yacht to greet his large family each day with a can-do attitude.
In fact, the owner told the Brazilian shipyard, ‘Sim senhor, that’s what we want with our whole family and nothing less, having the time of our life onboard.” Fourteen family members in total will relax together, play together, dine together, and much more.
To ensure that it provides a capable cruiser with as much usable deck space as possible for them, MCP Yachts partnered with Vripack. The shipyard and design studio are jointly responsible for previous deliveries like Queen Tati. Recently, they signed a multi-year agreement to collaborate further. The 133-foot (40.7-meter) yacht Seaview is the first project, in fact, under this new agreement.
Fitting for her name, the yacht Seaview has expansive sea views from full-height, wide glass panels on the main and upper decks. She further has a wood-lined beach club and similarly designed sauna. However, “creating maximum space value on a 40-meter required a creative approach to space planning,” notes Bart Bouwhuis, Vripack’s co-creative director. With “very energetic” input from the owner and MCP Yachts, he continues, the yacht Seaview has an unconventional yet still-logical layout. For instance, just two VIPs sit below decks. Two double staterooms and two twins are on the main deck. The owner’s suite, meanwhile, occupies much of the upper deck. The upper deck additionally has an alfresco observation lounge fully forward, plus an asymmetrical balcony for more intimate moments. Finally, gullwing lookouts complementing the skylounge let the family members spot approaching shorelines.
All of this comes with dedicated passageways and stairways for crew, naturally, plus a new semi-displacement hull design from Vripack. Manoel Chaves, MCP Yachts’ president and CEO, says it yields “very high level of comfort even in rough weather.” The all-aluminum yacht Seaview should see a good turn of speed, 21 knots at top end, while still enjoying a 3,500-nautical-mile range at 10 knots. Furthermore, fuel burn should be just 23 gph (88 lph) at 10.8 knots.
