In recent years Feadship has expanded beyond new builds. Each of its locations has handled refits and other maintenance-related interactions, for example. They’ve done so individually, too. Now, a dedicated company called Feadship Refit & Services brings all of these undertakings under one brand name. The offerings benefit new-build customers as much as older-yacht customers.
“We are offering a full suite of services that guarantee a Feadship’s essence is maintained throughout her life,” explains Pier Posthuma de Boer (above), director of Feadship Refit & Services. Specifically, the services fall into three categories. They are Feadship Rebuild, the Feadship Services Network, and the Feadship Authentication Certificate.
Feadship Rebuild centers on in-house major refits. Naturally, Feadship would like Feadship customers to take their yachts back home, so to speak. The same craftspeople who built these yachts therefore upgrade and/or replace systems, plus handle additional tasks. However, it’s not always simple, or practical, to return to The Netherlands. Therefore, Feadship Refit & Service offers the Feadship Services Network. Under this, owners and captains can select from four select refit shipyards that have long collaborated with the Dutch builder’s staff.
Those four shipyards are Amico & Co., Monaco Marine, MB92, and Rybovich. Respectively, they’re in Italy, France, Spain, and the United States. Feadship employees have overseen warranty and repair projects at each of them, a significant factor. Another is “their excellent reputation,” Posthuma de Boer explains. “They are all leaders in their part of the world.”
Of course, Feadship Refit & Services also benefits new-build customers. This is where the Feadship Authentication Certificate comes into play. Owners receive a formal document at launch, for starters. Then, they receive additional documents from the services-network partners following project work at their locations. Existing owners benefit as well. They can hire a surveyor to inspect service work and consequently confirm it meets Feadship’s requirements. Either way, consider the certificate an “official stamp of approval,” Posthuma de Boer says.
Regardless of what customers take advantage of, the Dutch company intends to impact the human aspect, too. You can opt for an annual support package including crew training.
